HC Deb 24 July 1987 vol 120 c615W
Mr. Thurnham

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received about proposals in the Queen's Speech for which he has responsibility; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Gummer

The Queen's Speech stated that the Government would help farmers to diversify and would introduce legislation to encourage the planting of farm woodlands. Consultation documents entitled "Farm Woodland Scheme" and "Farm Diversification Scheme" were issued earlier this year. A large number of responses have been received and we shall take these into account in framing our legislative proposals.
