Mr. Fowler

[pursuant to his reply, 21 July 1987, c.165]: As my right hon. and learned Friend the Paymaster General said earlier this year, the Government have no present plans to change the basis of operation of the service but its future is kept under review".

According to provisional accounts PER bettered its objective of recovering all its expenditure from fee income by some £37,000 in 1986–87.
