HC Deb 20 July 1987 vol 120 c65W
Mr. Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what estimates his Department has made of the number of persons likely to be infected with AIDS in the United Kingdom in 1992 on the basis of (a) current plans and policies and (b) a policy of compulsory confinement of infected individuals.

Mr. Newton

It is not possible, with our current knowledge, to make reliable estimates of the likely numbers of AIDS cases in 1992.
