The figures include the salaries, national insurance and superannuation costs for learners paid by health boards, the salaries and so on of nurse teachers and support staff at colleges of nursing and midwifery and the administrative and salary costs of staff of the National Board for Nursing, Midwifery and Health Visiting for Scotland. The salary costs do not take into account the service contribution made by students during training, which varies according to the course and particular college of nursing.
