§ Mr. Spearingasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will state those features of the curriculum proposed for city technology colleges which will differ from or be additional to his proposed core curriculum for the comparable age group in other secondary schools.
§ Mrs. RumboldCity technology colleges will be independent schools outside the scope of statutory provisions for the national curriculum but they will be required as a condition of grant to implement the substances of the national curriculum. The time allocated to the foundation subjects will also enable city technology colleges to develop distinctive characteristics and they will be expected to use this opportunity to give special emphasis to the teaching of science and technology.
