§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give (a) total gross expenditure on the National Health Service, (b) revenue expenditure on hospital and community health service and (c) capital expenditure on hospital and community health services, for each year 420W by those undertaking roadworks in Wales. The day-to-day monitoring of such signs is the responsibility of contractors and the highway authority's representative on site. Occasionally checks are carried out by local highway auhority engineers or Welsh Office engineers in the case of trucks and the motorway in Wales.
