HC Deb 12 January 1987 vol 108 c15W
23. Mr. Stern

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he is satisfied with the facilities available for the transport of the physically disabled in the light of the Transport Act 1985; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The Act requires local authorities to take into account the transport needs of people who are elderly or disabled, and provides grant-making powers. The Department will continue to supply technical and policy guidance for operators, working closely with the new Disabled Persons Transport Advisory Committee.
