HC Deb 12 January 1987 vol 108 c77W
Mr. Chris Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what resources have been used in his Department on the post-Chernobyl reviews of emergency procedures; what studies have been made or commissioned in revising the off-site emergency plans of nuclear installations; what discussions have taken place with the Central Electricity Generating Board on reviewing the reference accidents for off-site emergency plans; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Goodlad

I refer the hon. Member to the statement given by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister on 18 December at columns 612 and 613, in reply to a question by hon. Friend the hon. Member for Stafford (Mr. Cash). The Department of Energy is participating fully in the review of emergency plans and is in touch with the CEGB and others as appropriate.
