asked the Secretary of State for Transport what decisions his Department has taken regarding the Manchester airport rail link; and if he will make a statement.

None so far. We welcome the cost-sharing agreement between Greater Manchester PTA, Manchester Airport PLC and British Rail, reached last October. We understand that the parties wish to seek grant from the European regional development fund. We still await their application for that.
