§ 27. Mr. Teddy Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a further statement on the 16W progress being made in the Channel tunnel project and on steps being taken to safeguard security of passengers travelling through the tunnel.
§ Mr. David MitchellThe Channel tunnel project remains on target for the commencement of construction next summer, subject of course to enactment of the Channel Tunnel Bill. The British and French Governments and the Anglo-French Intergovernmental Commission and Safety Authority will ensure that acceptable arrangements are made for the security and safety of passengers.
