asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will publish the figures of those admitted to the United Kingdom for settlement over the past 12 months and state their country of origin.

[pursuant to his reply, 19 December 1986, c. 734]: The number of persons accepted for settlement in the United Kingdom in the 12 months ending 30 September 1986 (including both those granted settlement on their arrival and those granted settlement on removal of the time limit on their stay) was published by broad nationality grouping in table 1 of Home Office statistical bulletin "Control of Immigration: Statistics third quarter 1986" (issue 38/86).
