HL Deb 12 January 1987 vol 483 cc471-2WA
Lady Saltoun of Abernethy

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is the annual budget of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries for Scotland; what assistance it receives from other sources; what those sources are; and what that assistance would cost the Government if they had to pay for it.

The Minister of State, Scottish Office (Lord Glenarthur)

The expenditure for which DAFS is responsible is set out in Supply Estimates Class XVI Scotland. The department receives assistance from a large number of advisory bodies and organisations concerned with agriculture and fisheries matters in Scotland. A comprehensive list of these and the monetary value of their assistance to the department could be compiled only at disproportionate cost.

The apportionment of the department's administrative expenditure is also set out in Supply Estimates Class XVI Scotland.
