§ Mr. MellorSince 12 June 1986, requests have been received from the Italian Government for the extradition of six Italian nationals resident in the United Kingdom. The offences of which they are accused comprise murder, drug offences, theft, and handling stolen goods. A new extradition treaty between Italy and the United Kingdom was signed on 12 March 1986, but will not come into force until three months after the date of ratification.
