HC Deb 18 February 1987 vol 110 c698W
Mr. Amess

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the present British military role in Belize.

Mr. Stanley

I have been asked to reply.

The role of the British garrison in Belize is to assist in the external defence of the country and in the training of the Belize defence force. In addition to the garrison, there are 15 loan service personnel serving with the Belize defence force to help with its training and development.
