HC Deb 10 February 1987 vol 110 cc199-200W
53. Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what response he has had from health authorities to his latest plans for reducing hospital waiting lists.

Mr. Newton

I refer the hon. Member to the reply given by my right hon. Friend to my hon. Friends the Members for Broxbourne (Mrs. Roe) and for Brentwood and Ongar (Mr. McCrindle) and to the hon. Member for Newport, East (Mr. Hughes) on 13 January 1987 at c.136–38.

Mr. Fatchett

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many people in the Leeds, East and Leeds, West district health authority are currently waiting for hospital treatment; how many have been waiting for one year; and how many of these cases are classified as urgent.

Mr. Newton

The latest information available centrally is included in a bound volume of the hospital waiting lists for health authorities in England at 31 March 1986, copies of which have been placed in the Library. For more recent information, the hon. Member may wish to write to the chairmen of the Leeds Eastern and Leeds Western district health authorities.
