HC Deb 10 February 1987 vol 110 c200W
57. Mr. Kennedy

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will state the average length of time taken to process family income supplement claims; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lyell

Taking all claims for family income supplement, the length of time between the date of claim and when the decision is made averages 17 working clays. Where benefit is awarded, the average interval between the date of claim and issue of an order book is 23 days.
