Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) how many full-time women prison officers are employed in prisons in Northern Ireland;

(2) how many auxiliary women prison officers are employed in prisons in Northern Ireland.

Mr. Scott

One hundred and thirty-three women prison offices are employed in the Northern Ireland prison service. Of these, three are employed as prison officer clerks at male establishments and the remainder are employed at Her Majesty's prison, Maghaberry (female).
