HC Deb 04 February 1987 vol 109 c690W
Mr. Amess

asked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will list the figures for the last complete year for which he has records of electricity consumption for England and Wales.

Mr. Goodlad

In 1985, the last complete year for which information is available, electricity consumption in England and Wales amounted to 211.38 terrawatt hours. A detailed breakdown of this total, which excludes industrial producers' consumption from own generation of conventional thermal electricity, is published in theDigest of United Kingdom Energy Statistics 1986, table 52.
