Mr. Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will give the figures of maximum demand for electricity consumption in Scotland on 12, 13 and 14 January, indicating the amounts of electricity exported to England on each of these days; and if he will give the total capacity of the Scottish generating system.

The information set out below has been obtained from the Scottish electricity boards. The total capacity of the Scottish generating system is 8794 MW; the table below shows the capacity which was available for use on the days in question.
