asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his reply of 20 January, Official Report, column 489, how many of the 300 permanent new jobs at Wrexham prison will be filled as a result of national advertising.

It is not possible to give a firm prediction, but in normal circumstances approximately 250 posts— mainly prison service grades—would be filled as a result of national advertising.
