HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 c548W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what has been the expenditure on construction work to meet fire regulations by region for each of the last 10 years; and what expenditure is planned on this item, by region, for each of the next 10 years, as shown in the strategic plans by regional health authorities.

Mrs. Currie

Health authorities are required to comply with the general fire safety requirements of building regulations and, where appropriate, to hold fire certificates under the Fire Precautions Act 1971. They are also expected to comply with departmental fire precautions guidance. However, the costs of construction to meet these requirements are not separately identified in figures available to the Department.
