§ Mr. Hunterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the latest information which he has concerning the number of houses of the defective categories designated under the Housing Act 1985 which were built for, and have remained in, private as opposed to public ownership.
§ Mr. John PattenI am aware that such properties were built in certain locations, including Basingstoke, Chesham, Taunton and Dartford. The Department is currently obtaining further information.
§ Mr. Hunterasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will now consider giving the owners of houses of the defective categories designated in the Housing Act 1985, but which never formed part of public housing stock, rights comparable to those given to owners of such housing which did once form part of the public housing stock.
§ Mr. John PattenI will answer this question shortly.
