HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 c525W
Mr. Gareth Wardell

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he has any plans to amend the regulations relating to tests on buses carrying more than eight passengers in relation to comfort and convenience for public use; and if he will make a statment.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The Department has recently consulted about proposals to increase the number of safety checks at the annual tests of private vehicles with more than 12 passenger seats. We also propose to delete or change the checks of certain items in the annual tests of public service vehicles with more than eight passenger seats. In the latter group, a small number of checks on comfort and convenience would be dropped.
