HC Deb 02 February 1987 vol 109 c513W
43. Mr. Maclennan

asked the Attorney-General what steps he is taking to implement the recommendations of the Law Commission on breach of confidence.

The Solicitor-General

The Government intend to introduce legislation based on the recomendations made by the Law Commission in its report No. 110, cmnd. 8388, on the law in England and Wales relating to breach of confidence. But since the commission's report amounts essentially to a recommendation for a restatement of the common law it is not a matter to which the Government propose to give high priority at present.
