§ Mr. John PattenOn 31 October the difference between the authorised staffing level for a 39-hour week and staff in post for prison officers was 87. This is based on the existing criteria for manning, to be replaced under Fresh Start. The revised criteria are still the subject of discussion between the prison department and the local branch of the Prison Officers Association.
