To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to arrange that National Health Service sight tests include testing with an ophthalmoscope to ensure that glaucoma is detected if present.

I understand that the examination of the eye with an ophthalmoscope is normally carried out as part of the NHS sight test.
