To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many accidents, with details of fatalities, there have been in each of the last three years' operation of the youth training programme.

[holding answer, 15 December 1987]: Recorded accidents in youth training programme for the last three years are as follows:—

The majority of accidents fall under the following categories (a) cuts, (b) bruising, (c) sprains and (d) minor burns. There have been no fatalities.

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what information he has as to the destination of youth training programme leavers for each of the last three years; and of those who found employment, how many were with the firm who provided the training.

Employer-led partnerships provide training for less than 20 per cent. of full-time YTP trainees. Separate records have not been kept of the number who find jobs with the employer who provided them with full-time training.
