HC Deb 09 December 1987 vol 124 c199W
61. Mr. McTaggart

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the value of the capital allocation to Glasgow district in(a) 1978 and (b) 1987; and if he will express these figures as a percentage in real terms.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

Capital allocations for housing are issued on two blocks, to cover expenditure on local authority stock and on the private sector. Glasgow district council's capital allocations in 1978–79 totalled £66.924 million. For 1987–88, the council has received allocations totalling £137–65 million, which represents 101.2 per cent. of the 1978–79 figure in real terms.
