§ Mrs. RumboldHer Majesty's inspectorate provides evidence through reports of inspections on the nature and quality of religious education given in schools. All the agreed syllabuses currently in use give a central place to teaching about Christianity. Where an LEA wants to update its syllabus, it is a statutory requirement that the Church of England should be represented on the conference appointed by a local education authority for this purpose.
