To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give details of the number of fast-jet pilots who were transferred to helicopter or fixed-wing operations in the last five years.

The total number of RAF fast jet pilots transferred to helicopter or fixed wing/multi-engine operations in the last five years is 263. Details are as follows:

  • Re-streamed (during training) — 238 (67 to helicopters, 171 to multi-engine)
  • Re-roled (after qualifying) — 25 (7 to helicopters, 18 to multi-engine)
