To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what guidance his Department gives to local authorities regarding the type of repairs which are the responsibility of the tenant and of the local authority, respectively.

None. Local authorities' repairing obligations are specified in sections 8 and 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985. Tenants have no statutory responsibility for repairs.
