To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what recent meetings he has had with church leaders; and what subjects were discussed.

My right hon. Friend and other ministerial colleagues have, over the past four months, had six meetings with representatives of the Churches; other meetings have been held at official level. The subjects discussed have included almost all the proposals now embodied in the Education Reform Bill.
