The increase in export refunds and introduction of aids to private storage have strengthened the United Kingdom pig market in recent weeks. The future prospects for our pig industry will depend upon its ability to balance supply and demand for pigmeat, to expand its share of the domestic market for bacon and other pigmeat products and to increase exports.
