§ Mr. David MitchellThe Newcastle office of the northeastern traffic area has nine traffic examiners to serve the various enforcement needs of the Department and to assist the traffic commissioner in carrying out his functions; four of these examiners are permanently based in Darlington and their responsibilities include the county of Cleveland. In addition the traffic commissioner can use the traffic area office administrative staff to support him in his statutory duties.

§ Mr. David MitchellThe Transport Act 1985 does not require formal reporting on public transport services. Where complaints are received by a traffic commissioner it is for him to decide whether any further investigation or action is called for. Any resulting reports to him by his staff are confidential.
