HC Deb 21 October 1986 vol 102 c836W
Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether any discussions have been held between his Department and the London Residuary Body concerning further consultation on the future of Hampstead Heath;

(2) by what date he expects Hampstead Heath to pass from the London Residuary Body to a successor body;

(3) if he will publish the name of each respondent to the consultation exercise on the future of Hampstead Heath;

(4) what was the number of responses received to the consultation exercise into the future of Hampstead Heath; and what was the total number of responses in favour of each of the options proposed, and of the option proposed separately by the London borough of Camden;

(5) if he will direct the London Residuary Body to publish responses received to the recent consultation exercise on the future of Hampstead Heath.

Mr. Chope

The London Residuary Body's consultation exercise finished on 30 September. No future consultations of a similar nature on Hampstead Heath are envisaged. LRB's recommendations to my right hon. Friend will be submitted in due course. A decision on the date of transfer will be made in the light of those recommendations and any subsequent discussions with the LRB or other bodies.

The publication of responses received by the LRB, or an analysis of those responses, is a matter for the LRB.
