§ Mr. George Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) why he has not sought to extend protocol 1 of the European convention on human rights to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man;
(2) if he will now consider seeking to extend protocol 1 of the European convention on human rights to the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggA declaration extending protocol 1 to the Channel Islands and Isle of Man was not made in 1971. The islands are now being consulted about its extension to them.
