asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when he intends to announce the placing of a contract for a replacement vessel for Royal Mail ship St. Helena.

We are now working out the precise details of the most appropriate type of ship to build, and the timing of its construction. We hope to make decisions on these points shortly.
