HC Deb 24 November 1986 vol 106 c106W
Mr. Tom Cox

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans he has to develop or introduce night home nursing services for disabled or elderly people still living in their homes.

Mrs. Currie

I fully recognise that domiciliary nursing services provided at night by community nurses can be an important element in helping to maintain physically disabled or elderly people in their own homes. These services exist in many parts of the country. However, it is for individual health authorities to decide for themselves both the level of provision, and the pace and direction of further developments, in the light of local needs and circumstances.
