§ Mr. MellorSince the publication of the report of the committee on financing the BBC we have received 35 letters—in 22 cases referred to us by hon. Members—suggesting that pensioners should be exempt from the television licence fee. A further 36 letters have suggested a reduced fee. We are still considering the committee's recommendations concerning the licensing system.
