HC Deb 17 November 1986 vol 105 c45W
Mr. Rooker

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment which organisation is to occupy the building under construction at the rear of Norman Shaw North; and what is the completion date and the estimated construction and fitting-out costs.

Mr. Chope

The development behind Norman Shaw North comprises a new building on Richmond yard linked to the restoration of the Georgian Richmond terrace; and the rein' bishment of adjacent buildings fronting Parliament street.

Some of the development will be occupied by the Cabinet Office and the Welsh Office; but the majority of the space will be used for the ODA.

The building is on programme to be ready for occupation in the autumn 1987. The current estimate of cost of construction and fitting-out is £36 million.
