HC Deb 06 November 1986 vol 103 cc573-4W
Mr. Allan Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he proposes to give guidance to Scottish education authorities on their contingency plans in the event of further industrial action in schools; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John MacKay

Not at present. Advice was given to education authorities in March 1985. I am satisfied that education authorities are aware of their statutory duty to secure that there is made for their areas adequate and efficient provision of school education.
