HC Deb 04 November 1986 vol 103 cc426-7W
26. Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Defence how many of the residences up for sale at Malvern are still empty and without offers to purchase; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Freeman

All 22 of the Army's surplus married quarters at Wood Farm camp are empty. They have been passed to the Property Services Agency for disposal, and so far 17 have been advertised and offered to service men for sale under the armed forces discounted sales scheme, offers for 16 properties are being processed, and one property for which there is no bid will be sold on the open market by the Property Services Agency. The remaining five surplus quarters will be offered for sale shortly under the discounted sales scheme, and any not sold under the scheme will be sold on the open market.
