§ Mr. Chris PattenIn 1985 an estimated total of £510 million was spent in sub-Saharan Africa through both multilateral and bilateral channels. This represented 40 per cent. of total aid expenditure.
§ 64. Mr. Chapmanasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on co-ordination with other countries to help sub-Saharan African countries with their agricultural development programmes.
§ Mr. Chris PattenWe fully support the efforts being made by multilateral development organisations, by other bilateral donors, and by sub-Saharan African countries themselves to co-ordinate more effectively the assistance provided for agricultural development programmes.
