HC Deb 03 November 1986 vol 103 c365W
Mr. Maxwell-Hyslop

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services by what target date he expects that the National Health Service should be able to provide a three-yearly cervical smear test cycle along the lines recommended by the British Medical Association.

Mrs. Currie

The recommended interval for cervical cancer screening is currently five years. This recommendation is under review and we will announce the outcome of that review in due course.
