Mr. Peter Bruinvels

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science, pursuant to the answer to the hon. Member for Leicester East, Official Report, 15 May, columns 511–2, what information he has on the percentage of school leavers in Leicestershire, obtaining one or more A-levels, five or more higher grade O-levels or CSE grade 1 passes, one or more higher grade O-level or CSE grade 1 passes, and no graded O-level or CSE results, in each year from 1965 to 1985.

‡ The raising of the school leaving age in 1973 affected the total number of school leavers which was unusually low. Percentages are therefore unrepresentative and have been omitted.
