§ Mr. GoodladI have asked the relevant chairmen to write to the hon. Member on this matter.
§ Mr. Ashdownasked the Secretary of State for Energy whether considerations of (a) material security or (b) commercial confidentiality have ever resulted in failure to disclose immediately radiological incidents; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. GoodladI am advised by the UKAEA, BNFL, CEGB and SSEB that at no time have they failed, in respect of any United Kingdom civil nuclear installation, either on grounds of security or commercial confidentiality, to make prompt disclosure to the relevant authorities of any incident judged likely to have any implications for public health and safety.
