HC Deb 22 May 1986 vol 98 c257W
26. Mr. Dixon

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will state, for each year since 1978, the number of crimes against children which were known to the police in England and Wales, distinguishing between each category of offence.

Mr. Mellor

Information on the age and sex of victims of crime is not regularly collected except for offences of homicide. The only other information available relates to certain offences defined as being committed against children. This information is published annually in "Criminal Statistics for England and Wales."
