asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if, in the light of experience arising as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear incident, he has any plans to increase the level of civil protection in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The Government will be reviewing contingency arrangements in the light of experience following the Chernobyl incident.

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assessment he has made of the implications for the role of civil protection in the United Kingdom of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
