HC Deb 12 May 1986 vol 97 cc325-6W
Mr. Terlezki

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he is satisfied with the access available to United Kingdom firms to the market in the Soviet Union; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alan Clark

I am aware that some firms experience difficulties in obtaining access to reliable market information and to end users in the Soviet Union, but have no reason to believe that United Kingdom firms are treated any differently from other Western European companies. The Department takes the opportunity of Government-to-Government contacts, such as the joint commission, to raise these difficulties with the Soviet authorities.
