HC Deb 12 May 1986 vol 97 c305W
Mr. Favell

asked the Prime Minister what discussions she had with President Reagan during the recent economic summit in Tokyo about efforts by the United States Administration to encourage Americans to visit Britain and to ensure that accurate information is available to potential United States visitors to Britain about their safety.

The Prime Minister

We are doing all we can to persuade American tourists that it is safe to visit the United Kingdom. We have drawn the attention of President Reagan and of senior officials in his Administration to the importance of this: they have made a number of helpful statements.
